Vietnamese Military

The VPA (Vietnamese People's Army) also known as the PAVN (Peoples Army of Vietnam) is the armed forces of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. It was formed in December 22, 1944 by President Ho Chi Minh. It participated in many wars, two well known that they fought in were the World War 2 and the Vietnamese War. At the age of 18 males partake in a compulsory year of military service.

The Vietnamese military was significant to me because after further researching it I found facts that were very interesting. When comparing it to my home countries army I was astounded to find that their army was made up of only males. This made me wonder if the country is impartial to females. This military is also the second largest troop in the world, considering how many militaries there are this is very impressive.

This is the flag of the VPA, the slogon is rougly translated as "Determined to Win"
